“Angry”

My painting focuses on anger, particularly female anger expressed through passive aggression. Inspired by Soraya Chemaly's Rage Becomes Her, she explains how gender norms often turn female anger inwards. This exists within a flawed binary gender schema that, although increasingly challenged, still profoundly governs how we express and perceive emotion- an influence that's also intersectional, shaped further by race and class expectations.
