“Waves”

Inspired by Japanese photographer, Masao Yamamoto's, intimate portraits of nature based on Buddhist philosophy; I wanted to capture my relationship with the ocean. I was particularly inspired by the Buddhist analogy of the wave to transcend birth and death. It is said that the wave ends and begins but the ocean doesn’t, if it were to realize itself as a wave it would be infected by anxiety and fear, it can end, it is finite but accepting that it is part of the ocean, it can transcend fear, birth and death.
