“'Dear Diary' - A Bridget Jones Musical”

Dear Diary is a musical adaptation of the iconic and beloved film Bridget Jones’s Diary. The story follows Bridget, a witty but insecure thirty-something single woman living in London, who decides to take control of her chaotic life by starting a diary. Caught in a whirlwind of romantic entanglements, she finds herself torn between the charming but unreliable Daniel Cleaver and the awkward yet unexpectedly endearing Mark Darcy. Bridget documents her disasters and triumphs in her diary, all whilst attempting to finally get her life together once and for all. This reimagined musical version brings Bridget’s world to life through the use of pre-existing musical theatre songs, each cleverly adapted with new lyrics bringing a fresh new take to these well-known songs. Bridget remains one of the most iconic, recognisable, and relatable characters in pop culture. As university students we are all constantly trying to figure life out - navigating love, friendships, and the inevitable everyday drama that comes with growing up. We hope this musical not only brings laughter and joy, but also resonates with anyone who has ever felt a little bit lost and frazzled… and just a little bit fabulous too. @deardiary_mtw
