“Genjitsu | animated award winning short film about Bosnia and Herzegovina”

An animated short following 19-year-old Ismail as he navigates the crushing inflation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Faced with the rising cost of his mother’s essential medication and a lack of local jobs, Ismail must decide between staying in a changing homeland or joining the wave of migration to seek a future abroad.
Our animation highlights the 'cost of life' crisis through a Bosnian lens. We wanted to portray the reality for many young people today: the difficult choice between cultural roots and survival. By focusing on Ismail’s personal struggle, we aim to put a human face on the statistics of inflation and migration that affect our global community.
